Sage Hill girls basketball advances to first CIF final, plays host to Ontario Christian on Friday

Sage Hill’s girls basketball program will advance to the CIF finals for the first time.

Junior point guard Isabel Gomez scored 1 point and new Emily ED and Kat Regimer added 13 and 11 points, respectively, to help lead La Quinta past host La Quinta in the CIF Southern Division Division 3 AA semifinals on Tuesday, June. 8.

Senior center / forward Emily Elliott has a place on the 10-point and nine-rebound, second only to Sad Hill (1-6–6), who will host top-seeded Ontario Christian (22-1) at 7pm on Friday . Finally. Sage Hill won a coin-flip for hosting the championship game.

Sage Hill made a good comeback for the team in a matchup with Oklahoma-tied center Emma Swabda. Gomez and Eddie each received nine rebounds to share the team lead with Elliott, and Regime has eight teams.

The 6-foot-3 Swaboda finished a game-high with 21 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks.

Freshman guard Joey Lamkin scored seven points for Sage Hill, the third-ranked team in the tough San Joaquin League.

The only loss for the Ontario Christian is against top-ranked Sonora in Orange County, like Sage Hill. The Knights were led by Sofmore standout Chloe Briggs, who averaged 30 points, 12.4 rebounds and nearly eight assists.
