Four area boys basketball team will have home games in CIF-SS quarterfinals

Bishop Montgomery will advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, after two rounds of the CIF-South Division men’s basketball playoffs on the street.

The Knights won their second straight game, splitting from a halftime deficit and outsourcing Fairmont Prep 24-9 in the third quarter on their way to a 66ont-Prep 24 victory in the second round on Friday.

Javier Edmunds led the Knights with 32 points and Jalen Vázquez had 11 points.

Twenty Montgomery will host Oak Park in the quarterfinals.

The first leg was the departure of San Bernardo. The Vikings opened against Oxnard on Friday and won 70-611. They will host Chamnade. With the victory of Bishop Montgomery and St. Bernard, the Del Rey League rivals will meet again, this time in the Division 1 semifinals.

In Division 2 AA, third-class Rolling Hills opened the playoffs after a 5-6 67-51 victory over Prep Hesperia in the first round. Kenny Manzi had 28 points and 16 rebounds and JV Brown had 20 points.

The Hookies will likely host Fountain Valley in north Torrance.

The best dropped his Division 2A game to 633-49 against Colony, the top seed. Palos Verdes traveled to second seed Santa Margarita and lost 62-363.

Morningside led the first Shalvevets by seven at halftime, but the Firehawks will eventually win Division 3A 68-63.

Mouriningside had 16 points from Omrian Shackleford and Jeffrey Udensi and 15 from Henry Ad.

El Segundo also defeated Narco 71-67 at 3A. The Ag Gals will now have a shot at Shalveve on the fairway in their quarterfinals.

Third seed, Wiseburn da Vinci, defeated Santa Clara 59-52 in Division 4AA. Joyce Johnson and Ayman Suleiman have 14 points, Mahe 13 and Austin Fools have five points and six rebounds.

The wolf will be the host of Arcadia.

Costa Mesa defeated Hawthorne 69-55 in Division 5AA
