The class of 2021 at Anderson High School in Austin, Texas will never forget their graduation ceremony in the dark.
In fact, the audience that attended had some ambient light thanks to turning on their cell phone flashlights.
The event took place on Wednesday night when the start was given after a strong storm hit the area of the sports complex.
School officials refused to give up and used a megaphone because the sound system was not available.
They were also unable to broadcast the event live.
Utility company Austin Energy apologized for the outage and confirmed on Twitter about an hour later that power had been restored.
The director’s message to the graduates at the ceremony was “We can persevere in anything.
