LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. —
A Lawrenceburg High School student and football player died after a battle with cancer, the school district confirmed Saturday.
The school district said Brady Gabbard died following a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Superintendent Karl Galey said Brady would have been going into the 10th grade.
School counselors will be at the high school front office from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for anyone who needs support.
A GoFundMe page shared by the school said 14-year-old Brady was taken to the hospital last month after experiencing stomach pains and weight loss. That’s when he received the diagnosis.
The school district has organized a memorial and prayer service for Brady. It will take place on Tuesday, July 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the multi-purpose field. Counselors will be on-hand to provide support.
